This is a field-based anthropology tour, designed for travellers who want to explore Iran’s living traditions beyond museums. From the highlands of Bakhtiari to the nomadic pastures near Shiraz, this journey connects culture, landscape, and human stories.
01Day 1 – Arrival in TehranArrival in Tehran
Arrival at Tehran International Airport. Meet your guide and enjoy a short orientation tour including Golestan Palace and Tehran Bazaar. Overnight in Tehran.
02Day 2 – Tehran Ethnology & Anthropology IntroductionTehran Ethnology & Anthropology Introduction
Visit the National Museum of Iran and the Museum of Ethnology for an overview of Iran’s tribal diversity. Afternoon flight to Isfahan. Overnight in Isfahan.
03Day 3 – Isfahan Culture & Tribal HandicraftsIsfahan Culture & Tribal Handicrafts
Explore Naqsh-e Jahan Square and Armenian quarter (Jolfa). Visit handicraft workshops producing Bakhtiari carpets and tribal silverwork

Scenic drive to Kuhrang in Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari province. Meet Bakhtiari families in their black tents (Siah-Chador) and learn about their mountain life.
05Day 5 – Full Day with Bakhtiari NomadsFull Day with Bakhtiari Nomads
Spend a full day in nomadic camps: observe goat herding, butter-making, and carpet weaving. Short trek in the nearby mountains for panoramic views.
06Day 6 – Villages of Shahr-e Kord RegionVillages of Shahr-e Kord Region
Visit Sar Agha Seyyed stepped village and a traditional bazaar. Experience daily village routines and local cuisine. Overnight in Shahr-e Kord.
07Day 7 – Drive to Yasuj & Zagros ValleysDrive to Yasuj & Zagros Valleys
Travel south through the Zagros Mountains to Yasuj. Stop for photography and short walks in tribal valleys. Overnight in Yasuj eco-lodge.
08Day 8 – Qashqai Nomads near ShirazQashqai Nomads near Shiraz
Continue to Shiraz. Visit Qashqai nomads near Sepidan, interact with families, and learn about their seasonal migrations.
09Day 9 – Shiraz: Culture, Gardens & PoetryShiraz: Culture, Gardens & Poetry
Explore Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, Vakil Bazaar, and Eram Garden. Learn how tribal culture shaped local art and identity. Farewell dinner.
10Day 10 – Departure from ShirazDeparture from Shiraz
In the morning, enjoy some time for souvenir shopping before transferring to Shiraz International Airport for your departure flight. This concludes your memorable nomadic and anthropology tour in Iran.
